Wolfeboro Snowmobile Club
Sue Gaudette, Secretary
Snow is in the air! A good sign for things to come. Already the ground is freezing and waiting for mother nature to put on a nice white blanket for us. All across the state sleds are being tuned, cleaned, gear dug out of storage and club memberships being purchased.
Speaking of which, the WSC has had a great early season response for memberships. However, our donation tally is down from same time last year. With the struggling economy, we are all wondering how it will effect our sport. The good news is..gas prices have fallen dramatically recently and this hopefully will offset other rising costs.
The WSC faithful have been working diligently to prepare the trails for the upcoming season. Our landowners have been great..all positive and timely permission paperwork has been coming in steadily, for which we remain extremely grateful. This of course brings up the never ending plea to ALL of the folks that enjoy our trail system to please-please-please- stay on the trail!! This is the one repeated request our landowners bring up before giving permission to use their land and believe it-it is our privilege to have use of the land. One upset landowner and the closure of a trail could ruin the entire local network.
Exciting
news-we have a brand new trail map with GPS coordinates! One of our very
generous members has provided us with the software,
and several members put in a lot of hours plotting
the coordinates-it looks fantastic. Local business’s have eagerly sponsored the
new map, so we are really cutting edge now! Hope you all enjoy it. Maps will be
available at Irwin Marine in
Hopefully we
will soon be meeting on the trails.
Please respect the land you are riding on, each others
right to use and enjoy the trails, and HAVE FUN!
